Ms. Madeline Renita Fields of 4905 Olgers Road, North Dinwiddie, Virginia passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center Richmond, Virginia.
Madeline was born on January 19, 1959 to Mr. Hilton Fields, Sr. and the late Mrs. Anna L. Fields. She received her early education in the Dinwiddie County Public School System and was later a resident of the Southside Virginia Training Center for a number of years.
Madeline was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Anna L. Fields; grandmothers, Rosa B. Harris Fields and Martha J. McKensie; and grandfathers, Ernest L. Fields and Junius McKensie.
She will be missed and remembered by her father, Elder Hilton Fields of North Dinwiddie, Va; mother, Willie Mae Fields of North Dinwiddie, Va; brother, Hilton Fields, Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; step-brother, Abraham Wilson of California; sisters, Mary L. King of Petersburg, Va. and Regina L. Washington (Donald) of Petersburg, Va.; step – sisters, Joe Ann Wilson and Denise Harris, both of New Jersey; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Stephanie Taylor, Thomila Wilson, Sheila Harris and the Staff, Nurses and Aides of the Southside Virginia Training Center for all care and acts of kindness.
Funeral services for Madeline R. Fields will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. from the Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church, 310 W. South Boulevard, Petersburg, Va., with Pastor George K. Howard, Eulogizing and Pastor Stanley Mayes of Sharon Seventh Day Adventist Church, Crewe, Va., Officiating.
Interment will be in the Hayes and Fields Family Cemetery. Dinwiddie, Virginia. Remains will lie in repose at the church beginning at 12:00 noon on the day of the service. Relatives and friends are also asked to assemble at the residence at 11:45 am on the day of the service.
Public viewing will be held Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment 25824 Greensville Ave. Petersburg, Va. Online condolences may be registered at www.jldodsonandsons.com .
