Michael Christopher Massengale, 38, of Colonial Heights Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his home. He was the son of Mary Earl Eley-Deans and Dr. David C. Deans III of Colonial Heights and Michael B. Massengale of Chester Virginia.
Christopher was a 1995 graduate of Colonial Heights High School where he was an active member of both marching and concert bands. He also attended Southside Community College where he received his electrical certification.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Melvin and James Earl Eley, and paternal grandfather, Luther L. Massengale.
Michael is survived by his parents, Mary Earl Eley-Deans and Dr. David C. Deans III of Colonial Heights; and Michael B. Massengale of Chester Virginia; a brother, Daniel R. Massengale and wife, Teresa of Sandston, VA; a half brother, Jay W. Massengale of Chester, VA; a grandmother, Antonina Massengale of Chester, VA; a nephew and “best buddy”, Preston Gage Massengale of Colonial Heights, VA; an aunt, Tina L. Massengale of Chester, VA; two uncles, George S. Massengale of Honolulu, HI; and David F. Massengale of Burnsville, MN; cousins, Matthew H. Massengale of Chapel Hill, NC; Andrew F. Massengale of Burnsville, MN; William C. Massengale of Chester, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday January 8, 2015 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church 3110 Greenwood Ave. Colonial Heights, Va., with Rev. Dr. Andrew Brockelman, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia.
A public viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. day of service at the church until the hour of service and the family is requesting that Pallbearers assemble at 11:30a.m. at the church.
