Michelle D. Greene-Brown of 2900 Haygood Road, Petersburg, Virginia entered into eternal rest suddenly on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at her residence.
Michelle was born on November 15, 1974 to Deacon James Leon Greene, Sr. and Mary E. Greene. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ.
She graduated from Petersburg High School in the Class of 1992 and later received a degree in Medical Coding and Terminology from Ultimate Medical Academy.
Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Benjamin and Viola Walker, Ida Mae Greene and Hammond and Mable Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her memory: loving parents, Deacon James L. Greene, Sr. and Mary E. Greene of Petersburg, Va.; her husband, John P. Brown of Petersburg, Va.; two children, Jakia Greene (Chris) of Petersburg, Va. and Kevin Sanders Jr.(Jasmine) of Petersburg, Va.; three brothers, Calvin Greene (Geri) of Texas, James L. “Butch” Greene (Denise) of Petersburg,Va., and Andrew Walker of Petersburg,Va.; one sister, Jarnice Gholson (Joseph) of Chester, Va.; two step children, Taylor Calvin-Brown and Audell Brown; two grandchildren, Kalen King and Calvin Brown; ten nieces, Ayanna Walker. Aykira Reese, Teara Hayes, Jamyah Winbush, Shakiyya Samuels, Essence Samuels, Fatina Glover, Elaine Akbar, Jarvis Street and Monic Massenberg; two nephews, Kavarion Stith and Silas Greene; four uncles, Raymond Walker, Curtis Walker, Anthony Walker, Michael Walker (Angie); five aunts ,Linda Grandison, Aretha Gaither(Ramon), Lucille Walker, and Angela Walker (Terry) and devoted aunt and godmother, Jackie Walker (Andrew); one great aunt, Mable Jones; and a host of cousins and friends, among them devoted friends, Talia Cook, Kennedi Balthrop, Lashawnda Griffin, Breonda Jones, Jackie Tate Simpson, LaSonya Singleton, Shachema Brown, Candice Scott, She-Rhonda Jefferson, Tammi Stackhouse, Tawanda Walker and Alicia Cunningham.
Public viewing for Mrs. Michelle Greene - Brown will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.
Funeral services for Mrs. Michelle Greene - Brown will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 1:00pm at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax St. Petersburg, Virginia. Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park Petersburg, Va. Remains will rest in the church one hour prior to service. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence, 2900 Haygood Rd. Petersburg, Va., and is asking that relatives and friends assemble at 11:45 am at the residence on the day of service.
