Rev. Maria Ryans of Sutherland, Va., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia.
She was born in Virginia on June 17, 1940 to the late Minnie and Powel Keyseear.
Rev. Ryans accepted Jesus as her Savior and attended God Mission of Faith under the leadership of Pastor Virginia Graham. She later became a member of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ under the pastorate of the Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr. Rev. Ryans was faithful in her work for the Lord. While at Trinity she was a dedicated member of the Pastor’s Aid Ministry.
Rev. Ryans lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. She had a loving heart and a great passion for people. She was a God fearing woman who loved the Lord, fought a courageous battle and never complained. Rev. Ryans touched many lives through the gospel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and Powel Keyseear; former husband, Floyd Eddins, Jr.; husband, Miller M. Ryans, M.D., infant grandson, Tomas Q. Manila Jr.; sister, Leslie Calvin; brother, Ennis Keyseear, special friends, Betty Cole, Pastor Florence Coleman, Deacon Lawrence Coleman.
Rev. Ryans leaves to cherish her loving memory, her daughters, Pamela Manila (Tomas), Sheliba Grant, Tammie Martin (Ronnie), and Theresa Coleman (Lawrence Jr.); her son, Charles Eddins; brother, Delmar Keyseear; sister, Mary Flint; grandchildren, Latoya, Lawrence III, Tammy, Floyd, Pamela, Kristen, Rachel, Candice, Amanda, Li Ronnie, Ronnelle, Pamesa, and Therain; special friends, James Cole, Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr. and First Lady Traci Dodson; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.
A funeral service for Rev. Maria Ryans will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Virginia with Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Pastor, Officiating. Interment will follow in the Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence at 9:45 am on the day of the service.
