Gloria Jean Johnson Harris, 49, of Petersburg Virginia entered peacefully into eternal rest on June 27, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on January 26, 1968 to Alice Johnson and the late James Davis.
Gloria attended school in Dinwiddie and Petersburg Public Schools. She confessed Christ at an early age. Gloria loved her children and grandkids. She loved fishing, playing cards, and having fun with family and friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father, James Davis Jr.; a son, Antonio Johnson, and grandfather, James Davis Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Lawrence Harris of Richmond, Va.; her son, Dontae’ of Petersburg, Va.; three daughters, Melissa Jones, of Ford, Va., Levine L. Johnson of Dinwiddie, Va., and Bianca Johnson of Petersburg, Va.; ten beloved grandkids; her beloved mother, Ms. Alice Johnson; a sister, Rebecca Moss, of Petersburg, Va.; a grandmother, Willie Anna Davis; seven aunts, three uncles, one great-great aunt, Rose Wynn of McKenney, Va.; devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Steven Wade and Charlene Dunn.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Jean Harris will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, with Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Pastor, Rev. Lamont Edwards, Officiating.
A Public viewing will be held from 1-8p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.
The family will assemble at 2p.m. on the day of the service and receive friends at 1353 Farmer St. Petersburg, Va.
