Burley Holt Langford, Sr.

Burley Holt Langford Sr., age 86, passed away on September 14, 2017 at his home in Matoaca, Virginia surrounded by his family. Born on July 10, 1931, in Petersburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Holt Stringfellow Langford and Lorraine Tanner Langford.
Burley Langford, Sr. served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and on the Petersburg Police Department before his career at Allied Signal. Later, he served as a deputy in Chesterfield County. He was a Lifetime Member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
His family paid this tribute to the rock of the family - "Burley (Dad, Uncle Bubba, Papa) instilled the respect, values, and morals, exhibited by the following generations in his family, and showed us an honorable way of life." The family encourages others to "take a cop to lunch" or show kindness to our Law Enforcement Officers and Military Personnel.
Burley was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Langford Belcher.
Left to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 47 years, Patricia Alford Langford; daughter, Teresa Ligon and husband Terry, and children Alex and Brandon; son, Burley Langford Jr. and children Brian and Burley III, wife Chelsey, great-grandchild Emma; son, Michael Langford, wife Tammy, and child Zachary; son, Christopher Langford and children Joanna and Gideon; sister, Elvin Dowdy, and special nieces, nephews, and many beloved family members and friends.
