LINDA T. Ellis 61, of 216 East Broadway Apt. # 213 of Hopewell Virginia departed this life on Saturday October 7, 2017 at VCU Health System Richmond Virginia.
Linda was born in Prince George County on August 18, 1956 to the late Gladys Elizabeth Taylor and Alfred White Sr.
She was educated in the public schools of Prince George County, Virginia and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hopewell Virginia.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys E. Taylor; father, Alfred White, Sr.; a son, Luke Ellis; a sister, Dorothy Charles; and a brother, Alfred L. Taylor, Jr.
Linda Taylor Ellis was a loving and devoted mother to her eight children: William Ellis Jr, Charleen Perez(Darrell) and Sylvia Ellis McMillan(Stuart) all of Hopewell, Va.; Lamont Ellis(Jessica) of Chesterfield, Va.,; Margo R. Ellis, Linda V. Ellis, Uriah Ellis, and Zilliah Ellis, all of Henrico, Va.; 14 grandchildren; over 7 great grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Merritt(John) of Hopewell, Va.; Betty Monroe(Daniel) of Petersburg, Va., and Jackie Bannister (Eugene) of Maryland; three brothers, Bobby Taylor(Kathy) and Christopher Taylor both of Hopewell, Va.; and Rev. Wayne Taylor (Linda) of Petersburg, Va.; loving aunts and uncles ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of life service for Mrs. Linda T. Ellis will be conducted at 2:00p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God in Christ, 233 Halifax St. Petersburg, Virginia. Minister Marvin T. McKenzie, Eulogist and Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr. Pastor, officiant. Interment will follow in the Ellis Family Cemetery 803 Stonehill Rd. Enon Church Rd. Chesterfield, Virginia.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 2pm to 9pm and Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9am to 8pm at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment. Remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service.
The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence of daughter and son-in-law Charleen Perez (Daryl) 106 Hopewell St. Hopewell Va.,and her sister Elizbetha Merritt 3314 Granby St. Hopewell and on the day of service Sunday, October 15, 2017 the family is asking that relatives and friends assemble at the residence 216 Cornez Manor Apt. 213 Hopewell, Va., at 1:00 P.M.
