Mrs. Martha Rebecca Ingram Miles of 135 Tapscott Street, Brooklyn, New York entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York.

She was born in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Jett Ingram, Sr. and Effie Ingram.

Martha was educated in the Petersburg Public School System. She retired after 36 years of service from the Department of Education Office of School Foods of NYC.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Miles; two sisters, Gloria Walker and Mamie Ingram; two brothers, Jett Ingram, Jr. and Jerome Ingram.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three nieces, Pamela Fittz of Bronx, New York whom she called her lil’ sis, Andreaia Lovett and Angel Ingram both of Petersburg, Virginia; four nephews, Jerome Parson of Alabama whom she raised as her own, Steven Parson of New York, Jermaine and E’lon Ingram both of Petersburg, Virginia; a host of great nieces and nephews, among them three devoted – Diane, E’lon and Nikia Ingram of Petersburg, Virginia; two aunts, Mary Briggs of Petersburg, Virginia and Bertha White of Baltimore, Maryland; numerous other relatives and friends, Florida Cornish, John Williams, Jr., Audrey Dubose, Sandra Battle, Jack Jones and Antoinette Evans of Petersburg, Virginia; Bonnie Armstrong, Flossie Myers and Gary of Brooklyn, New York; a very loving companion, Victor Johnson of Brooklyn, New York, and all of the Blandford Community. She will be truly missed.

Viewing for Martha Miles will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the J. L Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Va. 23803. Interment will follow in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie, Virginia. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 708B Juniper Road at 11:45am on the day of the service.
