Alvester L. Taylor, ‘Al” departed this life on Friday, November 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Courtland, Va. to Dorothy Taylor and Lloyd M. Bradshaw, Sr.

Al was educated in the Richmond Public Schools system. He loved to watch football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In his pastime, he loved oldies but goodies and eating like there was no tomorrow. Al was a hardworker in everything he did.

He gave his heart to the Lord at an early age and was a member of Redeem C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Superintendent, Elder Willie Weatherspoon. Later in life he became a member of Cathedral Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Vincent E. Harris.

Al was preceded in death by his Mother, Dorothy Taylor Cowles; stepfather, Dennis Cowles; grandmothers, Ella Taylor and Richetta Rawlings; and grandfather, Lloyd B. Bradshaw.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Children: Demetrice, Dale and Daniel; Loving Father: Lloyd M. Bradshaw, Sr. (Marilyn); Sisters: Toni T. Gray (Germel), Sandra D. Clinton; Brothers: Glen Bradshaw(Zenetia),Deshawn L. Bradshaw, Sr. (Tiawan), Lloyd M. Bradshaw, Jr.;(Renarda); Grandchildren: Dayarna, Char'mese and Chasiddy; Aunts: Charlene Blow, Marilyn Skeeter (Howard); Joann Ricks; Uncle: Melvin Bradshaw, Sr. (Peggy); devoted Cousin/Brothers: Richard Taylor and Lloyd Taylor; devoted Cousin/Sisters: Valerie Taylor and Debbie Parker; like a mother, Shirline and a host nieces, two devoted Taylor and Octavia Gray; nephews, one devoted  Nicholas Taylor; pet Simba (dog); caretaker, Shaquetta Brown and a host  of other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 2pm to 8pm at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

Funeral service for Mr. Alvester Taylor will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803. Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr. Pastor, Bishop Vincent E. Harris, Cathedral Deliverance Ministries, Officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery. Family and Friends are asked to assemble at the church at 10:30am on the day of the service.
