Ms. Nora Eley Williams, 81 years old, of 2854 Shady Hill Lane, Petersburg, Va., entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2010, at Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Colonial Heights, Va.
She was born in Isle of Wight County to the late Peter Eley and Mary Eliza Hall. She was educated in the Isle of Wight County Public School. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church Windsor, Va.. and also attended Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of
God in Christ, Petersburg, Va. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Saunders, Lettie Parham, Gladys Kigler, and two brothers, Royal Eley Sr. and Robert Eley Jr.
She is survived by one devoted son, Carl Williams (Annie) of Petersburg, Va.; two sisters, Annie Whitehurst of Dover, Del., and Sadie Copeland (Dorpha) of Windsor, Va.; four grandchildren, Randell Green, Bonnie Jones (Dwayne) of Petersburg, Connie Rogers, Maxine Green of Ettrick, Va.; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Nora Eley Williams will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, from Shiloh Baptist Church, 9000 Fire Tower Road, Windsor, Va.; the Rev. James Elam Sr., senior pastor, officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Remains will rest at the church at 12:45 p.m. until hour of service. Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, 405 Johnson Ave. Suffolk, Va. The family is asking that relatives and friends assemble at 12:45 p.m. the day of service at the residence of her sister and brother–in-law, Sadie Copeland (Dorpha) 24426 BearTrap Circle, Windsor,Va
