On Tuesday morning at 11:15am, God dispatched his angels to bring his singing mockingbird to join his heavenly choir. Our dear mother and sister left to be with God on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from the SOVAH Health Center in Danville, Va.

April was born on October 23, 1976 in Danville, VA to the late Sherman Younger and Dorothy Logan Younger. She graduated from Chatham High School. April was baptized at a young age at the Rosebud Baptist Church. She loved to sing. Many times she could be heard singing praises to God. We know that she is standing right beside her daddy in heaven singing her favorite song “Lord, I Want You To Take Me Higher”.

April loved the love of her life, Rochelle Pittrell. She was truly blessed with the diamonds in her crown, her sons, Markel and Martavion. They brought so much joy to her life and kept that beautiful smile upon her face. She was also blessed with a ruby when she became a proud grandmother to her granddaughter, Nova – her “Sugar Plum” and “Sunshine”. April is and will be truly missed.

April was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Michael Logan, brother-in-law, Allen Smith.

She leaves cherished memories to her sons, Markell Pittrell and Martavion Younger of the home; Fiance’ Rochelle Pittrell of the home; sisters, Princess Younger of Chatham, VA, Sharon Wooding of Duluth, GA, Angela Younger of Charlotte, NC, Michelle Chamberlain of Danville, VA, and Tammy Younger of Chatham, VA; brother, Sherman Younger, Jr.; best friend, Crystal Waller; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Viewing for April Younger will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at the J.L Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

The family is asking that relatives and friends assemble at the residence of her sister Tammy Younger 1799 Concord Rd. Chatham Virginia 24531 at 12:00 P.M. day of service.

Drive in graveside service for Ms. April Younger will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 1:00PM at the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, 2081 Deer View Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
