Rita Michelle Graves, 56, of 337 Audubon Drive Apt 18C, Danville, VA, passed away on January 8, 2021 at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

She was born on November 12, 1964 in Danville, VA and was the daughter of the late Barbara Graves Jackson and the late John Banks.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Rita was preceded in death by her twin sister, Nita Graves and nephew, Marco Banks.

Rita is survived by two sons, Alfonzo Graves of Waverly, VA and Aaron Graves of Danville, VA; one daughter, ReTreva Graves of Danville, VA; four brothers, Reginald Graves, Gregory Graves, Jeffery Graves(Angela), and Barry Banks; two sisters, Felicia Banks and Ruby Jeffries; two beloved grandchildren, Cameron Graves and Jayda Walker, and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives. She also had a special niece, Latorya Banks and close friends Demetrius Carter, Deborah Clements, Diane Barnes, Yolanda Thomas, Yvonne Smith, and Marquetta Orendoff.

Celebration of life service for Ms. Rita Michelle Graves will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00pm at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment – Danville, Virginia. Minister Gaynell white, Officiant and  Minister Mitzi Graves – Coles, Eulogist.  Burial will be private. Family and friends are asked to assemble at  J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment at 1:45 p.m. on the day of the service.

A public viewing will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.
