Paul Douglas Sauls was born on December 13, 1956, in Richmond, Virginia to the (late) Bishop Henry William Sauls and Mother Ruth Rachel Sauls. He received his formal education from Richmond City Public Schools.

Paul was raised in the church under his father, the late Bishop Henry W. Sauls at the Glorious Church of God in Christ in Richmond, VA. Paul gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. He sang with the choir and was a drummer.

Paul enjoyed his life with his daughters, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, and close friends. He loved to dress and travel, and was a very generous and respectful person. Paul was an excellent tailor who made and designed clergy robes and garment bags for numerous pastors and bishops.

Paul later moved to the Washington, DC/Maryland area and was under the leadership of Pastor Roy Plummer of Trinity Temple Church; there he sang with the Men’s group.

Paul Douglas Sauls entered into eternal rest on November 19, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandpa, uncle, nephew, and cousin.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Bishop Henry Sauls; his mother, Mother Ruth Sauls; two brothers Clifton Sauls and Benjamin Sauls; and one sister Maudell Sauls.

Paul leaves to cherish his memories a devoted family: two daughters Victoria V. Jones (Kenneth Branch) and Kia McReynolds. Paul also leaves to cherish, six grandchildren, Audrey J. Jones, Jerome A. Hill Jr., Amir J. Jones-Branch, Kaylen McReynolds, KaMay McReynolds and Kamden McReynolds; three great-grandchildren, Zoey A., Jolie A. and Jayveon A.; four sisters, Patricia Jones, Grace Sauls, Jean Wilson, and Yulanda Brooks (Larry); four brothers, William Sauls (Florence), Timothy Sauls (LaVerne), Charles Sauls and Bruce Sauls; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
