Hilda Grace Harrell was born to the late Pearl and Willie Houpe on March 5, 1937 in LaGrange, North Carolina.

She later moved to Long Island, New York with her now deceased husband, Esaw Harrell, Sr. After several years, they moved to Petersburg, Virginia. Their union was blessed with three sons – Alton, Esaw Jr and Edward.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Esaw, Jr.

Hilda leaves behind two sons, Edward (Joanne) of Petersburg, VA and Alton (Laura) of Long Island, NY; sister-in-law, Rita Houpe of East Moriches NY, brother-in-law, Collen Harrell

of Aura, NC; and a host of grands, great grands, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hilda will be missed by many and loved by even more.

Celebration of life services for Mrs. Hilda Grace Harrell will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at12:00pm at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment-Petersburg.  Bishop Rashaun Hill, Eulogist, Fortress Of God International , Hopewell Virginia and Dr. Archie German, Officiating, Pastor of Union Branch Baptist Church, Prince George Virginia.

Relatives and friends are asked to assemble at the Funeral Establishment at 11:45 p.m. on the day of the service.

Masks are required at all visitations and services.
