Mrs. Anita “NeNe” Jones Parker got her Golden Wings on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Leon Wilkins and Juanita “Sista” Jones.

Nene completed her education at Sussex Central High School, the great Class of 1979. She was known for her great macaroni and tuna salad, and was known as “Betty Crocker.” She would cook a chocolate cake! She was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys Fan.

Nene was married to Louis Parker. She was a nurturer and gave love to everyone.

Anita was a member of Christian Outreach Ministries until her health declined and she was unable to attend- never losing her love or faith in the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Wilkins and Juanita Jones; Josie and Horace Jones, Eddie Jones, Sr., Mother Julia Birchett, Mother Margorie Coleman, Jacqueline Womack and a brother-in-law, Junious Parker.

She leaves behind family and friends that will cherish her memories: a devoted husband, Louis Parker; a sister, Tarnisha Wilkins, of GA., her godchildren, Jemarcus Jones (Taylor), Antonio Jones (Jen) both of San Antonio, Texas, Derek Jones, CA., Tyrese Womack of Hopewell, Va., and Mercedes Stith, both of Georgia; a brother, Jimmy Butts, of Waverly, Va.; aunts, Bobbie Wilkins (Lawrence) of Maryland, Rose Jones, of Norfolk, Va., Sheila Jones, of Waverly, Va., Faybell Jones (Eddie deceased) of Waverly, Va., and Thelma Patterson, of Bronx New York; uncles, Rev. Dr. Horace L. Jones, Jr,. (Sylvia) of Chesterfield, Va., and Clyde Jones (Letiticia) of Petersburg, Va. There were so many more children she loved and nurtured, and a host of cousins, friends, and the Hicks Trailer Park Family; Randy Stith, Corey Hamlin, Alfred Futrell, Margaret Chambliss and Dadricka Davis.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment Petersburg, Virginia.

Celebration of life service for Mrs. Anita Jones Parker, will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022  at 12:00 p.m. at the Christian Outreach Ministries 12449 Beaverdam Road Waverly , Virginia. Bishop Garland Chambliss, eulogist, and Windy Chambliss, officiant, Pastors.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Remains will rest in the church at 11:00 a.m. on the day of the service.

The family is asking that relatives and friends to assemble at the residence of her cousin Tina Garrett(Norman) 32683 Sussex Dr. Waverly, VA at 10:45 a.m. on the day of service.

For the health and safety of attendees, masks are required at all visitations and services. Attendees are asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
