Mrs. Catherine Adams Stokes, 71, of 824 Riverview Street Danville Virginia entered into eternal rest, on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Riverside Health Care Center, Danville, VA.

 She was born August 1, 1951 in Danville, Virginia to the late William Edward Adams and Alice Adams Hubbard.

 She was the last survivor of her generation and she was employed at Averett University Danville Virginia.

She was predeceased by her husband, James T. Stokes, three sisters, Phyllis Adams, Annie Murrell Adams and Virginia Adams; one brother, William Adams.

 She leaves behind to cherish her memories two daughters, Labelle Stokes and Jackie Fitzgerald (Jerry) both of Danville, VA; three sons, Hylton Stokes (Tiffany) and George Adams both of Danville, VA and Ben Stone (Lisa) of Chatham, Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.  

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Catherine Adams Stokes will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at in the Oak Hill Cemetery 100 Walters Mills Road Danville Virginia 24540. With Rev. Ke’Aunte- Clements officiating.

A public viewing will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment- Danville VA.

The family is asking relatives friends to assemble at 12:45 p.m. on day of service at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Labelle Stokes, 824 Riverview Street, Danville, VA.
