Mary Catherine Thomas gained her relief from life on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at South Boston Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Boston, Virginia.

Born December 18, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Obrey Davis and Anna King Davis. She married the late Louis Alvin Thomas and was blessed with three sons.

Mary was educated in the Pittsylvania County Public School System. She received her Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree in Business Administration from National College in Danville, Va. on August 14, 2010.

She accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Kentuck Missionary Baptist Church in Ringgold, Virginia. She would later join Camp Grove Baptist Church and Evening Light Holiness Church. She attended many churches where God lead her too.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by three sisters, Helen Helena Davis, Lula Dean Davis, and Frances Ann Venable; and three brothers, Borgie Reed Davis, Dannie Darnell Davis, and Hubert Nelson Davis.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her three sons, Timothy Carlyle Thomas (Margie) of Portsmouth, VA, Sidney LaConda Thomas of Greensboro, NC, and Sigmund Quixote Thomas (Marie) of Danville, VA, one sister Nell Davis Whitehead (Gene) of Danville, VA; two brothers Percy Lee Davis of Danville, VA and Michael Burrell Davis of Blairs, VA; three grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Mary Catherine Thomas  will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 12:00 P.M. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Danville, Virginia. Elder Rena Kernodle, Officiating, Eulogist. Interment to follow in Highland Memorial Park 3049 North Main St. Danville Virginia.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 5 pm – 7 pm, at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia 24541.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence of her son, 45 Selma Avenue, Danville, Virginia.

The family will assemble at 10:45 A.M. on the day of the service.
