Mr. Charlie Glass, 83, passed away peacefully from this life on the evening of July 28, 2023, after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded by his loving family, friends, and caregivers during the last of his days. 

Charlie was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on January 23,1940 to the late Felix Hinton, Jr.  and Virginia Glass Hinton.

During Charlies life on earth, he blessed others with his ability to love and take care of others. He lived a simple life; however, it was filled with laughter and love.

Charlie was a general laborer by day; but in his free time, he loved to talk and laugh with everyone whether it was on his front porch or at the local laundromat. What brought him joy was singing and talking about the “goodness of the Lord”.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Glass Hinton, step father, Felix Hinton, Jr.,  son, Charles Edward Glass; sisters, Frances Davis and Shirley Glass.

Charlie is survived by a son, Timothy Charles Glass (Ordette); four stepchildren, Lakeisha Mease (Tommy), Larissa Farmer, Joelkenda Farmer (Lashawn) and Gloria Farmer Willis (Antonio); two sisters, Hazel Oliver and Bertha Bennett (Tony); eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren; two devoted special friends/caregivers, Jeffrey and Lawania Huffman; and two devoted godchildren, Myles Penick and Devonte Penick.

                                                           

Thank you to an amazing set of caregivers, Delandra Hodge from Rinda Care, Karina, and Stephanie from Amedisys, and devoted sitter, Chante Chaney.  Thank you for your time and patience that you had during this difficult time.  There are no words that can express the gratitude we have for you, during Charlie’s decline in health.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2023, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Charlie Class  will be held on Friday , August 4,  2023 at 4:00pm at  J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment –Danville Virginia.    

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence, 318 Walker St, Danville, Virginia.
