Linwood Robertson was born on March 7, 1927, in Chatham, Virginia, to the late Robert and Lillie Waller Robertson. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Piney Forest Health and Rehabilitation, Danville, Virginia, at the age of 96.

Linwood, a resident of Chatham, Virginia, was married to the late Georgia Grasty Robertson.  He was a veteran of the US Army and was retired from Diamond Tobacco Factory, Danville, Virginia. 

 He recently accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Christ Temple Blue Rock Church in Vernon Hill, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by five brothers; Percy Waller, (Beulah), James Robertson (Geneva), Joseph Robertson (Alberta), Charlie Robertson (Patsy), and Woodrow Robertson, (Mary); two sisters, Luis Edmonds (Willie C. Edmonds), and Louis Womack, (William Womack); and one brother-in-law, Nathaniel Edmonds.

 Linwood leaves to cherish his memory, a special son, Terrell Grasty; and four sisters, Agnes Rudd, Ionia Sparks, Rosa Mae Edmonds and Lillie Singletary. 

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Linwood Robertson will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 7 p.m., at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, Danville, Virginia, with  Pastor Carolyn Jackson, Officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Burial Park, 3049 North Main Street, Danville, Virginia, on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 12 Noon. 

A public viewing will be held prior to the service on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, Danville. Masks are required at all visitations and services.
