Mr. Earl Lee Mason (Barney), 64, of Courtland, Virginia, entered a peaceful rest on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Tobey Hospital – Wareham, Massachusetts.

Earl was born on September 21, 1958, to the late Earl Stringfield and Thelma Davis. He graduated from the Sussex County Public Schools.

Over the years, Earl was employed at Masonite, North Western Railway, Newport News Shipyard, and Boston Transit. He loved to ride his motorcycle and to attend professional wrestling matches.

Earl leaves to cherish memories, a daughter, Shauniqua Mason; stepdaughter, Katina Pettaway (Michael); foster brother, Maxneal Mason, Jr. (Roslyn); uncle, Maxneal Mason, Sr.; four grandchildren, Tyrell Miles, Jr., Kawil Pritchett, Sandrayas Pettaway, and Keondra Pettaway; great grandchild, Sayon’ Pettaway; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

“You followed your dream to Boston and left family behind; Now we gather to say goodbye. We hope to see you again. We love you dad, papa, and brother. Rest in Heaven until then”

Celebration of Life Service for  Mr. Earl Mason (Barney) will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023  3:00pm at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment- Petersburg, Virginia. Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Officiating, Eulogist.

The family is asking that relatives and friends to assemble at the funeral establishment at 2:45p.m. on day of service.

Masks are required at all visitations and services. Attendance may be limited. Attendees are asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
