Ms. Bessie Renee Granderson, 59 of 500 Farmer St. apt 520 departed life on Wednesday January 31, 2024. 

She was born on April 23, 1964, to the late Mr. Joseph & Mrs. Ethel Perry. She was educated in the Petersburg Public School system where she graduated.

  Ms. Granderson was preceded in death by her fiancé Mr. Roderick Edwards; her parents, Ethel Perry and Joseph Perry; three brothers, James Perry, Kirk Perry and Joseph Perry, Jr. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Mrs. Natasha Perry Harrison (Curtis), 2 loving sons, Mr. Rontai Patterson (Connie) and Mr. Eddie Patterson, III.;  two grandchildren, Malia and Ayden Harrison, who she truly loved; one nephew, Mr. Joseph Perry, III., and one niece Ms. Nakia Perry of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two uncles, Mr. Larry McCrae (Bonnie) and Mr. Langston McCrae of Philadelphia, PA.; one aunt, Ms. Elizabeth Hite (Hopewell, VA); her devoted cousin, Mr. Thomas Perry, Jr. (Nell); two great nieces and a great nephew;  a host of family and friends that loved her dearly and a devoted friend, Mr. Willie Bradshaw.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, Petersburg, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 3:00 pm. at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Pastor, Officiating.  Interment service will be private.

The family is asking that relatives and friends assemble at her daughter and son in law's  residence - Mrs. Natasha Harrison(Curtis) 321 Conduit Road Colonial Heights, Virginia - at 2:00 p.m. on the day of the service.

Masks are required at all visitations and services.
