Floresia A. Berry, affectionately known as Flo, was one of seven children, born on January 21, 1947, to Mr. and Mrs. Willie Henry and Louise Rodgers. Flo graduated from Southside High School in Blairs, Virginia. Sadly, Flo departed this life on May 9, 2025, at the age of seventy-eight.

Flo loved her family dearly. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was passionate about capturing moments with pictures and cards of which she cherished dearly and displayed in her many photo albums. 

Flo enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was a free spirit who never met a stranger. She always had a kind spirit and would help anyone she could. Flo loved the Lord and whether she lived in Virginia or Maryland, she always found a church to connect with.

Flo leaves behind to cherish her memories her children: Anthony Kennedy, Mckeal Rodgers (Kimberly), Felix Akintomide, Vincent Akintomide (Gloria) and Pamela Akintomide, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Carolyn Rodgers Brown, two brothers, Carson Rodgers, Jerry Rodgers and a host of nieces and nephews.

Flo was preceded in death by her parents Willie Henry and Louise Rodgers; her siblings: Ann Dodson, Willie James Rodgers, and Josephine Dark; and her grandson: Corey Moseley.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the chapel of J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greensville Avenue, Petersburg, Virginia. 23803 Rev. Dr. Herbert W. Anderson, Eulogist.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greensville Avenue, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 from 6 pm – 8 pm.

The family is asking relatives and friends to assemble at 11:45 a.m. on the day of the service at the funeral home.
