Julian A. Martin, affectionately known as “Spazz”, departed this life on May 31, 2026.  He was born on April7, 2006, to Therain and Lauren Martin.

“Spazz” was a deeply loved presence in the lives of all who knew him.  He was educated in the Dinwiddie County Public School System.  He was a member of The Lord’s Church in Ettrick, Virginia under the leadership of his Pastor, Reverend Doctor Howard L. Moses, Sr.  Most of all, Spazz loved basketball.  He was a former employee at Amazon.

Julian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth Bishop, Jeanette Bishop and Bette Cole; uncles and aunts Dwight Hudgens, Tammy Holloway, Walkina Griffin, Sandra Anderson, Charles Eddins, Dr. Miller Ryans and Rev. Maria Ryans and cousin, Aruth Ware (Puddy).

Julian leaves behind a beautiful family to cherish his memories, parents, Therain and Lauren Martin; the love of his life, Tonisa Epps; children, Ka’os Martin, Amarion Martin and Amariao Bland; his memory will be kept alive by his siblings, Christopher Jernigan, Jada Martin, Shakiya Martin and Mariah Martin; devoted grandparents, Rev. Dr. Ronnie and Tammie Martin, Kenneth Boyd and Donna Boyd; great grandfather, James Cole; aunts and uncles, Ronnie Mason (Juwanna), Ronnille Seward (Leanette), Pamesa Martin (Rahieme), Michael Boyd (Martina), Tavaras Johnson (Brooke), Rev. Kelly Martin (Niaretta), Jacqueline Miller (Dea. James), Candy Williams, Mary Hudgens, Pamela Minila, Shelbia Grant and Theresa Coleman (Lawrence);cousins, Kania, Laeley, Sasha, Natalya, poppy(rahieme, Jr.) numerous of other cousins, best friends, Manga, Li Derek, Wop and Zaybo (Phelps) and a host of other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00p.m. to 8:p.m. at J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greensville Avenue, Petersburg, Va.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church Of God In Christ 233 Halifax St. Petersburg, Va. Bishop Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr. MDiv.  Pastor and Rev. Dr. Howard L. Moses, Sr. Pastor, The Lord’s Church, Ettrick Va. Eulogy, Officiating.

Interment will follow in the Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg Virginia

The family is asked to assemble at the residence at 12:45 p.m. on the day of service.
