Mrs. June Elaine Wagstaff, of Danville, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Stratford Health Care in Danville, Virginia.

She was born on May 26, 1957, to the late Samuel and Florence Royal Hairston. June was united in marriage to the late James Leonard Wagstaff.

June was educated in the Danville Public School System and was employed at the Hatcher Center in Danville, Virginia, for several years. She was a faithful member of Jesus Team Ministries Church, where she served in the Usher and Kitchen Ministries. A creative and caring individual, June enjoyed sewing, planting flowers, and spending time in nature.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Ronald Hairston, Donald Hairston, and Erica Wagstaff, as well as her twin brother, Samuel Hairston.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her three sons, Marcus Wagstaff, Patrick Wagstaff, and James (Jessica) Wagstaff; one brother, Alphonzo Hairston; a special friend, Diane Hairston; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia. Pastor Arthur Crews of Jesus Team Ministries, 500 Arnett Boulevard, Danville, Virginia, will serve as the Eulogist.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 1600 Afton Road, Danville, Virginia 24540, beginning Monday, August 3, 2026.

The family is requested to assemble at the funeral home on the day of the service at 1:45 p.m.
