Obituary
Edward June Hall Sr.
“Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you into myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3
Edward June Hall Sr., son of the late Joseph Edward and Clara Marie Hall, was born on January 19, 1950.
He was called home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
Edward, also known as June too many, received his education in Danville Virginia Pittsylvania School System. Upon completing his education, he joined the United States Navy. He served his country and received an honorable discharge.
In 1968, Edward married his childhood sweetheart, Sarah Ross, whom he had known since they were 11 years old and from this union eight children were born. Edward was a devoted family man who dedicated his life caring for his family. Edward worked various jobs before retiring from the City Department of Danville, Virginia.
June was a fun, loving father. He was an affectionate friend to all who knew him. June loved all sports and enjoyed watching football with his sons. Also, he was entertained with the joy of watching his sons and daughters riding their motorcycles. He loved the Lord and was always making tapes and CD’s of gospel music for family and friends he was adamant about each label being typed on his old school computer (typewriter).
Edward June Hall was a peaceful, loving and God-fearing man that held love and peace in his heart for everyone. He made friends every place he went. If you ever had the pleasure of having a conversation with him, you would immediately become his family member, he always called you “Cuz”. He will be forever missed.
Now reunited in heaven with the family members who preceded him, he has joined them around God’s throne – his father, Joseph Hall, mother, Clara Hall, brother, Lewis Hall, grandson, De’Andre Jefferson, father and mother-in-law, Albert and Essie Ross.
He leaves to carry on his legacy: wife of 53 years, Sarah R.
