Ms. Dorthy Lee Stroud

Ms. Dorthy Lee Stroud of Danville, Virginia, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Sovah Health Danville.  She was born on May 25, 1935 in Danville, Virginia to the late John and Mary Stroud.  

Dorthy was a 1954 graduate of Langston High School and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.  She loved singing in the choir, taking care of the kitchen supplies and helping people in need.  Dorthy was the last member of her immediate generation.  She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, from the chapel of J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.   Pastor James Michael Nelson, Eulogist.    Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, 100 Walter Mill Road, Danville, Virginia

The family is asked to assemble at the funeral home on the day of the service at 9:45a.m.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her nephew and his wife Mr. & Mrs. Robert L. Price, Jr. 1512 Kemper Road, Danville, Virginia.
