Mr. Charles Sinard Hanks

Mr. Charles Sinard Hanks, of Petersburg, VA, entered into eternal rest on April 6, 2026 at The VA Hospital, Richmond, VA.  He was born in Petersburg, VA on August 11, 1947 to the late Anderson and Adline Talley Hanks.

Charles affectionately known as “Bo” to family and friends was employed and retired Stericycle Medical after years of service as Driver. Charles loved being on the road, that’s where he always said he found his peace. 

He was preceded in eternal rest by his sisters, Bessie Mae Hanks, Yvonne Hines, Nannie Richards, Dora James and Mary Lou Hanks; brothers, John Anderson, Eddie, Edward, Spencer Hanks, Willie Lee Mason and Wayne Morrow; sisters-in-law, Roberta and Regina Hanks; and his nephews, Wayne and Marlon Hanks, and two devoted nieces, Angela Thorpe, and Donnette Hines.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Tara Lewis (Henry), and two sons, Gerren Short, and Marcos Hanks, sister, Elizabeth Hanks; and sister in law, Ruth Hanks (Spencer). Charles also leaves to cherish his memories: Five grandchildren: John Holleman III, Thomas Hall, Christian Lewis, T’asia Amari Hinton, Trinity Tyrie Short, and one great granddaughter, Rylee Hinton.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to his nieces, Zarak and Debbie Hanks for the love and care you provided for Uncle “Bo” during his time of need.
