Mr. Chicobi Dashun Holmes "Day Day"

January 01, 1984 - January 01, 2024

Chicobi Dashun Holmes, affectionately known as “Day Day” was born January 1, 1984, in Danville, Virginia. He received his wings on January 1, 2024. Dashun was the son of the late Debra Bailey and Jeff Jones.

Dashun received his education in the Danville Public Schools. He attended Danville Community College and pursued a degree in Engineering. Recently, he worked in the auto-manufacturing industry for Morgan Olsen. He was a diligent worker and had a great work ethic. He always said, “Ain’t nobody got none to give you.”

Dashun was family oriented. He loved spending time with his kids. He enjoyed having his kids with him and taking them out to eat. At other times, he just wanted to chill, relax, and listen to music. His stubbornness, though occasionally challenging, it was always rooted in good intentions.

Known for his generous nature, Dashun never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness extended beyond his family, creating a ripple of gratitude to those surrounding him. Whether it was a friendly gesture or a selfless act, Dashun made a positive impact on those around him.

In his moments of leisure, Dashun found joy in the thrill of a joyride, letting the wind carry away his worries. As a member of the Distinguished Gents, he appreciated the camaraderie that came with shared passions and mutual respect; it was a brotherhood built on common values and a shared enthusiasm for life.

Yet, amid all his endeavors, Dashun remained grounded in his faith. The cornerstone of his existence was his love for the Lord, providing him with strength, guidance, and sense of purpose. Dashun’s life was a harmonious blend of hard work, generosity, fellowship, and devotion - a testament to the richness that comes from a heart overflowing with love and faith.

Dashun was predeceased by his mother, Debra Bailey; grandparents, Lizzie and Ruben Holmes; uncles, Steve and Ruben Holmes Jr.; cousin, Wayne Holmes, Jr.
