Mr. Eric Jerome Dodson

Mr. Eric Jerome Dodson, 51, of Roanoke, VA formerly of Danville, Va and son of Mr. Raleigh and Minister Loretta Dodson, Blairs, Va was born on February 11, 1972 in Pittsylvania County. Eric departed into eternal rest on January 24, 2024. Eric was the grandson of Mrs. Helen Johnson of New Jersey and the late Charlie and Lucy Neal Stone of Chatham, Virginia.

Eric was educated in the Pittsylvania School System. Eric was an extremely kind, respectful young man and had a heart of gold. He was the middle son, energetic, and creative even at birth as a baby he often

would climb out his crib and we still haven't figured out how he succeeded. Eric enjoyed family gatherings and hunting with his father and brothers. As an adult, and despite his circumstances, Eric was a happy individual and would often be the one to encourage you about God and his goodness. Ironically, and comforting, Eric departed this life on January 24th, on his grandfather Charlie's birthday.

He leaves to cherish fond memories:  his parents, Deacon Raleigh and Minister Loretta Dodson;  Two brothers, Timothy W. Dodson, Danville, VA and Christopher Dodson of Roanoke, VA; numerous uncles and aunts; Carolyn Dodson of Baltimore, MD, Wilbur Stone of Richmond, VA, Patsy Jones, Faye Brandon, Kitty Stone and Larry Stone (Carolyn) of Danville, VA ; Dexter Stone (Sophia) and Judy Fitz (Calvin) of Martinsville, VA, Patrick Mayo (Kimberly) of Pikesville, MD and the late Jimmie Jennings. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of cousins, family and friends to celebrate his life and rejoice his journey into our Lord’s Kingdom.

Celebration of Life services for Mr. Eric Jerome Dodson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday,

February 2, 2024 at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street,

Danville, Virginia 24541. Minister Loretta Dodson, Officiating.

The family is asked to assemble at 1:45 p.m. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment on

the day of the service.
