Mr. Gerry Alan Williams "KOO/KOOL"

 

On February 14, 2024, Gerry A.  Williams, (“Koo”, “Kool”)  of Petersburg, Va was

summoned to his eternal home. Born on December 19, 1964, “Kool” was the youngest son of the late Henry L. Williams  and Ernestine Jones Williams.  

“Kool” was a proud graduate of the Petersburg High School Crimson Wave Class of 1983.  He was formerly employed by the Petersburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority and Hill-Phoenix, Inc. “Kool” absolutely loved detailing cars, home repair and linking with his many friends and family.  He was an avid Washington Commanders fan.

Gerry was preceded in death by his father, Henry L. Williams;  and grandparents, Walter Dennis and Mabel Parham Jones and Bruce and Katie Gilliam Williams.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving mother, Ernestine Jones Williams; his sons, Damariole Brown, Marcus Barlow, Jevon Jackson (Tony), Jovan Monroe and Jasion Monroe; his daughter, Brittany T. Williams; nine grandchildren, his devoted older brother, Darrick Williams; two nephews, his aunts, Evelyn Jones, Sharon Myrick, Alice Cora, Shirley Williams and Flora Williams; his uncles, Bruce Williams (Helen), Horace Williams, Bennie Williams and James Williams. Also left to cherish his memories are his best friends, Elder Douglas Weaver, Roger Frenzley, Robert “Pretty” and Bobby Pryor,  and a host of other family members and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greensville Avenue, Petersburg, Virginia.  Rev. Brenda L. Cherry, Officiant.  Elder Douglas Weaver, Eulogist.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 4 – 8 p.m. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

The family is asked to assemble at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment at 11:45 a.m. on the day of service.

Masks are required at all visitations and services.
