James Franklin Huffman was born on November 19, 1966 to the late James Cleveland Huffman and Idella Martin Huffman, who survives.
A Time of Rest:
James entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2023 in Rockingham County, North Carolina.
A Time To Plant:
James was employed in many capacities during his life. From operating a tractor-trailer to his many stints in manufacturing, he was able to find his niche in whatever place he lived. He worked last for Gildan Activewear distribution in Eden, North Carolina.
A Time To Laugh:
James was a congenial, straightforward man who was loyal to his family and friends. He often spent his free time traveling from one place to another, spreading laughter and love to those he visited. A caregiver to his mother, James was often found in the company of his aunts and cousins who lived near the residence.
A Time To Mourn:
James leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother, Idella Martin Huffman, of the residence; four brothers: Michael Huffman (Dorcas, who is predeceased) of Martinsville, Virginia, and Eric Huffman (Vicki), Emory Huffman (Traci), and Jeffrey Huffman (Lawania), all of Danville, Virginia; a "special cousin," Fred Huffman, of Cascade, Virginia; "special daughter" Shakiya Fontaine, of Cascade, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, James Cleveland Huffman, and his sister, Marilyn Huffman.
A Time To Heal:
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 13 at 1:00 p.m. at J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, located at 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia, 24541. Pastor Frederick Noel of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will preside; Elder Marvin Slade of Evangelical Holiness Church will deliver the eulogy.
A Time To Embrace:
James will be interred at the Martin Family Cemetery, located at 1720 Cascade Mill Road, Cascade, Virginia, 24069.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.
The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residents of James' great-aunt, Essie Mitchell, at 1720 Cascade Mill Road, Cascade, Virginia.
