Mr. Joseph Earl Green, Sr.,
Mr. Joseph Earl Green, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Gretna, Virginia.
He was born on July 22, 1974 in Staunton, Virginia to the late Robert Lee Green and Lizzie White Green, who survives.
Joseph was married to Aretha Michelle Medley Green, who survives.
He was a hired musician for Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Gretna, Virginia, where Reverend Doctor Roger Williams is the pastor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Green; one sister, Vanessa Green and one aunt, Margaret Bennett.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Aretha M. Green; two sons, Joseph Earl Green, Jr., and DeVante Medley both of Danville, Virginia; four daughters, Makayla Odessa Payne and Kadasia Medley both of Danville, Virginia, Chasty Medley of Greensboro, North Carolina and Alexis Robinson, Richmond, Virginia; his mother, Mrs. Lizzie W. Green; three beautiful granddaughters; his father in law and mother in law, Mr. Edward Arthur Medley(Patricia Ann); one sister, Mazie Jackson of Faber, Virginia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life services for Mr. Joseph Earl Green, Sr,. will be conducted on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at J. L. Dodson Funeral Establishment 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia with Reverend Charles Hairston, Pathway Church, Eulogist. Interment will follow at White Rock Baptist Church Cemetery 340 Cedar Road, Mountain Hill, Virginia.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence, 100 Paul Street Danville, Virginia at 10:00 on the day of the service.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment-Danville, Virginia.
