Mr. Randall B. Moore

Randall Briggs Moore, 64, of Danville, Va., transitioned Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Salem Veterans Hospital.

Born August 8, 1958, Randy was the son of the late Joseph E. Moore and Peggy A. Hairston, who survives.  He was a Veteran of the United States Marines. The “passion to serve & protect” followed Randy throughout his life. Before moving back to Danville, he worked in security at Naval Base Kitsap in Bangor, Washington and Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. He also managed his own security business.

Randall was preceded in death by his father, Joseph E Moore, brother, Joseph Keith Moore, both of Danville, Va., and daughter, Ashlee Moore of Port Orchard, WA.

Randall is survived by his wife Deborah Moore of Hampton, Va.; his mother, Peggy A. Hairston of Danville, Va.; two daughters, Juanita Clark (Randy) of Port Orchard, WA and  Rannell Alsteen (Malloy) of Tacoma, WA.; a son Jamil Moore (Casey) of Tacoma, WA.;  a sister, Sandra Moore of Oak Park, MI.; brother, David Moore of Danville, Va.; 13 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services and will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 12:00 Noon at Highland Burial Park, 3049 North Main Street Danville, Virginia. With Full Military Honors. Rev. Jerome Coleman and Pastor Frankie Jones, Officiating.  

A public visitation will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 5 pm – 7 pm at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia 24541.

The family is ask to assemble at  residence of his mother, Mrs. Peggy Hairston, 1551 Claiborne Street  Danville, Virginia at 11:30 A.M. on the day of service.

 Masks are required at all visitations and services.
