Mr. Ronald Wayne Mason

September 04, 1963 - September 21, 2026

Ronald Wayne Mason, affectionately known as “Wayne,” was born on September 3, 1964, in Petersburg, Virginia, to the late Mr. Joseph T. Rawlings, Sr. and Mary F. Rawlings. He peacefully departed this life and entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.

Wayne was preceded in death by his siblings, Tony L. Mason, Denis A. Rawlings, Edith M. Rawlings, and Fecilia Rawlings; his beloved nephew, Monteze D. Rawlings; his grandfather, Jerome W. Mason; his grandmother, Valnora C. Mason; four aunts and one uncle; and his special friend, TiTanya Crenshaw.

Wayne was educated in the Petersburg Public School System. Known as a true “jack of all trades,” he possessed a remarkable ability to repair, build, and work on just about anything within the home. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his life. He was employed by Walter D. Witt and later worked for Boar’s Head until his health began to decline.

An avid fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, Wayne enjoyed following his favorite team and spending time with family and friends. Though quiet by nature, he was a gentle and caring man whose presence brought comfort to those who knew him.

One of Wayne’s greatest blessings was the special bond he developed with his daughters later in life. Their love, devotion, and unwavering care brought him joy and comfort. They faithfully stood by his side and cared for him until the day God called him home.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving daughters, MiAngel M. Crenshaw and Myanna T. Crenshaw; his sisters, Cassandra D. Rawlings and Denise Rawlings; his brother, Joseph T. Rawlings (Doris); three aunts; one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and quiet strength.

Wayne’s legacy will forever live on through his children, family, and friends who knew and loved him. While his physical presence will be deeply missed, his memory will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

As we celebrate Wayne’s life, we find comfort in the promises of God’s Word: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). We rejoice in knowing that Wayne has found eternal peace and rest in the presence of his Savior.

Well done, good and faithful servant. Rest in heavenly peace, Wayne. You will forever be loved and remembered.
