Mr. Varry Clark

Mr. Varry aka “Exhaust Pipe,” entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Sovah Health Hospital in Danville, Virginia.

He was born February 23, 1946 to the late Vernon Clark and Shirley Waller.  He was married to Mrs. Edith Clark, who resides in Danville, Virginia.

Varry was employed at A.S. Pugh Roofing in Danville, Virginia for several years. He also worked on lawnmowers, cars, etc. during his spare time.  During the decline of his health, he was employed at the car wash on North Main Street in Danville, Virginia.  If you needed your car washed “Exhaust Pipe”, lovingly called by family and friends, was the person to go too.

Varry loved his grandkids and his nieces.  He was a family man that would do anything for you, he might get smart with you, but eventually do it.  His presence and amazing personality made an impression on you that you would neverforget.  His favorite quote was “Hold it in the Road.”

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Lawrence Clark, Jessie Waller and James Clark.

Varry leaves to cherish his memories in addition to his wife; two daughters, Valerie Goode (Tilly), of Danville, Virginia and Tonya Freeman, of Durham, North Carolina; two sons, Timothy Clark (Marlene) of Lynchburg, Virginia and Marcus Clark (Otelia) of Richmond, Virginia; a brother, Aubrey Wilson (Jane) of Danville, Virginia; seven sister-in laws; three brother-in laws; three granddaughters, Tyasiah Clark, Lele Dandridge and Antigone Dandridge; one grandson, Akira Clark (LaQuitta); three great grandchildren; three nieces, LaToya Howell (Derek) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jessica Waller and Nicole Logan of Danville, Virginia; nephews, Darryl Jones(Andrea) and Kendrick Waller, a special friend, Lela May Jones of Danville, Virginia; and a host of relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Varry Clark will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main St. Danville, Virginia 24541. Elder Rena Kernodle, Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church, Penhook, Virginia, Eulogist.  Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, 3049 North Main Street, Danville, Virginia 24540

 A public viewing will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

The family is asked to assemble at the daughter’s residence, Valerie Goode (Tilly) 138 Davis Street, Danville, Virginia 12 noon the day of service.
