Celebrating the Home Going Service of Wayne L. Kelley aka “Dink, Dink Bird or Birdman”

                                                           January 27, 1965 – November 8, 2023

On November 8, 2023, our hearts were grievously broken, our beloved Wayne Leon Kelley went home to our Lord and Savior. He was born to the late Roosevelt Rudy Theodore Kelley and Lillie Mae Kelley on January 27, 1965. Wayne was quite a handy man with his hands and could fix anything, so he said! He was always available to help and assist anyone. He had a passion for handy work. Wayne loved to ride his bicycle everywhere he had to go. He would load his equipment on his bicycle if he did not have transportation to get to a job. Wayne was a very funny passionate people person and everyone that crossed his path left with a smile or two! He was a “Jack of All Trade, Master at None! Wayne was truly a die-hard “Dallas Cowboys” Fan and loved to dance!

Wayne was a graduate of Petersburg High School in 1985. His first job was in the 90’s at the Richard Wine Cellar Company located on Pocahontas Island. He moved on to Richard Crowder Construction Company during pipe laying and heavy equipment operator, Fort Lee Cutting Grass Company, Power Moving Company, Roper Lumber Company, Pizza Hut, Croaker Spot Old Towne, Stellar Management Group Sanitation Services, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Church’s Chicken which he loved to cook, he was the best, he always said, Byrd’s Professional Car Detailer and Liason Restaurant. Overall, Wayne loved to freelance and spread his enthusiastic assistance, so he had his own private customers he loved to serve and please! He was a fast worker and would fuss once you told him to slow down to do it right, he would say, “I have other customers waiting for me, I don’t have time for this.”

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Rudy Theodore Kelley, six brothers, Leon, Rudy, Michael, Larry, Mark, and James Kelley, three uncles, Monroe Edmonds (Gloria), dedicated uncles Melvin Kelley aka “Uncle Buckeye” and James Smith aka “Uncle Jimmy” (Queenie) and one most dedicated precious reliable auntie, Millie McDaniel aka “Ganny”.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memories to his only child, daughter Weecy Wiggins, his wonderful strong loyal supportive mother he loved dearly, Lillie Mae Kelley, two sisters, Rose Kelley, and Melinda Gillard (Nathan), three brothers, Roosevelt (Berdenia), Kenneth (Yolanda) and Steven Kelley all of Petersburg, two aunts, Arthelia Taylor (Rodney) and Rose Morgan (Alonzo). A host of loving, supportive and caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends’ real friends!
