Mr. William Thomas Barksdale

William Thomas Barksdale, 69, entered eternal rest on February 14,2024, at Sovah Health Hospital, Danville, Virginia. 

Born March 6,1954, in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of the late William Henry Barksdale and Ella Callands of Danville, who survives. In addition to his father, he was preceded by his stepfather, Linwood Callands, and his brother Stanley Callands, and his sister Barbara Jean Tucker.

Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Ella Callands of Danville, Virginia; one son, Kevin Barksdale of Richmond, Virginia; three sisters, Jeanetta Cardwell, Linda Stephens, and Loretta Mclean of Danville, Virginia; two stepsisters, Patricia Barksdale and Julia Coles of New Jersey; one stepbrother, Carl Barksdale of New Jersey; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,friends and a devoted friend, Erma Dunham.

The Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia.  Apostle – Dr. Waddell Butler, Officiating.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

The family is asked to assemble at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment at 12:45 p.m. on the day of the service.
