Mrs. Doris Elaine Smith Lee

Doris Elaine Lee, “Tina” 64, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2021 at Sovah Health, Danville, Va.

Doris was born on January 6, 1957 in Danville, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Lacey Dodson and Lucille Smith both of Danville, VA.

Doris married Sherman Douglas Lee on February 14, 1994. They were married 26 years. Doris loved to laugh. She loved her family with all of her heart. She had a big personality and lifelong friends that adored her.

Doris was preceded in death by sons, Andrew Smith, Melvin Smith, and Jermay Smith; and step-daughter, Tabatha Holloway.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughters, Shermaine Smith, Latoya Jordan (Patrick), Samantha Wilborne (Ryan), and Shellie Williams (Travis); sisters, Beatrice Hibbit and Sylvia Smith; brothers, Lorenzo Smith and Harold Smith; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing for Mrs. Doris Lee will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment – Danville, Virginia.

Funeral service for Mrs. Doris Lee will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1013 Adams Street, Danville, Virginia 24540. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park, 3049 North Main Street, Danville, Virginia 24540.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 1014 Claiborne Street, Danville, Va.

The family is asking that relatives and friends to assemble at the residence at 11:45am the day of service.

Masks are required at all visitations and services. All attendees are also asked to follow social distancing guidelines.
