Mrs. Jackie Sue Maitland

   Jackie Sue Maitland, 63, of Dinwiddie County, VA, passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

   Born in Blackstone, VA and raised in Dinwiddie County, VA, she was the daughter of Junius M. Lloyd and Mattie J. Lloyd. She attended Dinwiddie County High School and worked as a cook for over 30 years.

   Jackie was a longtime member of the Dinwiddie County Moose Lodge. She enjoyed cooking, crafting and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her warm smile and kind, loving personality.

 

Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 26 years, Richard L. "Sonny" Maitland and her father, Junius M. Lloyd.

   Jackie  is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ryan L. and Corinna O. Maitland of Dinwiddie, VA; son, Steven L. Maitland of Church Road, VA; grandchildren Ryan L. Maitland, Jr. and Matthew W. Maitland of Colonial Heights; Tristyn R. Maitland and Rylee L. Maitland of Dinwiddie, VA; mother, Mattie J. Lloyd of Dinwiddie, VA ; and brothers, Albert M. Lloyd of Dinwiddie, VA, Mark W. Lloyd of Dinwiddie, VA and Brian K. Lloyd of Dinwiddie, VA.

   

   The viewing/visitation will be held Sunday, February 16 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at J.L. Dodson and Sons  Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greenville Avenue, Petersburg, VA 23803. The graveside service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 2:30pm at Southlawn Memorial Cemetery, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg VA 23805. Rev. Tammy Hayes officiating.

 

The family is asking relatives and friends to assemble at 1:45p.m. the day of service at the funeral home.
