Juanita Delores Arnold
Born Juanita D. Brown, on April 9th, 1942 in Hopewell, Va. the 3rd child to Rev. Judge and Hattie Bell Brown.
Juanita was educated in the Hopewell city Public school system. Soon after graduating from Carter G Woodson High school in 1960 Juanita, determined to make a living for herself, sought and found employment as a live-in in NYC. A few years after being in New York her employment ended. Juanita began renting a room from who would become her family away from home.
Juanita became a veracious world traveler, having traveled 3 continents. It was while in NY She met and fell in love with who would become her life-long traveling partner, Astley Arnold. They married on March 24th, 1972, and continued to travel for decades, until the interruption from recent illness.
Juanita successfully secured employment with New York City Human Resource Administration Medicaid approval unit elevating to Manager. Juanita was such a diligent employee the benefits department began annually offering to buy her unused paid time off because she accumulated so much time she could have taken an entire year off with pay. It was only because of the unprecedented attack in America on September 11, 2001 that Juanita made the decision to retire after over 30 years of employment.
Juanita lived a life dutifully unto God. Juanita was a proud member and Adult Sunday school teacher at Convent Ave. Baptist Church in Harlem NY for decades.
On Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 Juanita D. Arnold answered the call from labor to reward.

Juanita had a life well-lived, love-filled with humor, hard work, integrity and generosity. She was quick witted, often giving plain and simple doses of ICE COLD “all in love” reality checks. She is and will continue to be sorely missed.

The Family
