Mrs. Sarah Lillian Stansbury

Mrs. Sarah Lillian Stansbury of Chester, VA, entered into eternal rest, at the age of 83, on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Beaufont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond, VA.

She was retired from Richmond Plastics.

Mrs. Stansbury was a wonderful mother who was always there when her children needed her.  She had the lovely gift of making people laugh and a genuine kind heart that truly cared about everybody, strangers or not. 

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Gordon and Marion Crowder, brothers, Robert and John (Junie) Elder and Arthur Crowder, and her son, Gene Wayne Stansbury, Jr.

Mrs. Stansbury is survived by her two daughters, Debra Snipes and Donna Stansbury; one sister, Tereasa Dunnavant; ex-husband, Gene Stansbury, Sr. and other relatives and friends.

She was very much loved and truly will be missed.  

A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 am. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Va.  Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 9:45 am. Bishop Designate Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr. is the Officiant.
