Mrs.Rosa Mae Thomas Blow

Mrs. Rosa Mae Blow of 6364 George Town Road Waverly VA 23890 went to be with the lord peacefully on Monday, February 7, 2022 at her residence. She was born on March 5, 1940 to the late James H. Thomas and Daisy M. Walker Thomas in Surry County, Virginia.

Rosa was educated in the Surry County Public School System. She worked at John Randolph Hospital until she retired. 

Rosa was preceded in death by James O. Holmes; daughter, Cherelle Holmes; brothers, Arther Thomas and William Thomas; brothers-in-law, Walter Holmes (Florene) and Thomas Lee Holmes.

She leaves cherished memories to her devoted husband, James W. Blow; her devoted son, Walter W. Holmes of Surry, Va; her devoted daughter, Daisy L. Holmes of Surry, Va; grand children, Walter Moore (Rita) of Hampton,Va, Jamal Clary (Tiffany) of Petersburg,Va, Brandon Holmes of Surry, Va, Trenton Holmes of Surry, Va, DeWayne Holmes (Teresa) of Hopewell,Va; great grand children, Arslyn Moore, Iziahn Moore, Nyzare’ Parker, Amir Cypress, Izaiah Moore, Jeniayah Sloan, Javayla Sloan, Destani Savedge, Trinity Keaton Holmes, Harmony Keaton Holmes and Alyssa Holmes; brother, James H. Thomas Jr. (Yvonne) of Petersburg.Va; sisters, Evelyn M. Holmes and Bessie L. Jones both of Spring Grove, Va, Ella B. Geter and Marion L. Washington both of Petersburg VA; sister-in-law , Jeanette Thomas of Spring Grove,Va;brother- in- law, Richard Blow of Waverly, Va; uncle, Robert Thomas (Evelyn) of Maryland; (second daughter, Cherelle Holmes) (Varina) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. 

Celebration of life services for Mrs. Rosa Mae Thomas Blow, will be held at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Holmes Cemetery 177 Thomas Drive Waverly Virginia. Elder Phillip Wilkins, Eulogist, with District Elder Joseph Shaw, Officiant.

A public viewing will be held Friday , February 11, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00pm at J.L. Dodson & Sons Funeral Establishment- Petersburg Va.

Relatives and friends are asked to assemble at the residence at of her daughter Daisy Holmes 4063 Martin Luther King Highway Waverly Virginia at 12:30 p.m. on the day of the service.

Masks are required at all visitations and services.
