Ms. Loretta Jacklin Patterson

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, God sent His Angel to call from labor to reward our loving Loretta Jacklin Patterson.

Loretta was born June 29, 1963, in Danville Virginia to the late James and Edna Graves Patterson.  She was educated in the Danville Virginia Public School System.  She was employed at Hills Department Store for many years.  She worked at the Sunrise store until her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Sharonlyn A. Patterson, Ollie P. Tate, Doris J. Jeffries and Deborah K. Patterson; three brothers, Joe L. Patterson, Alexander R. Patterson and Ronnie M. Patterson.

Loretta is survived by her sister, Patsy Ann Patterson; two brothers, Gerald Patterson (Linda) and Bernard Patterson, all of Danville, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services for Ms. Loretta Jacklin Patterson will be held on Thursday, Aprill 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street, Danville, Virginia.  Pastor LaShonda Reynolds, Christan Life Church, Eulogist.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily at the residence of her niece, Ms. Ashlee Cunningham, 816 Arnett Boulevard, Danville, Virginia.

The family is asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. on the day of the service.
