Ms. Ruby Florance

Ms. Ruby Jeanette Florance, formerly of Danville, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 17, 2023 in Richmond, Virginia.

On August 7, 1957, an angel was born to the late William and Evelyn Florance.  Ruby graduated from George Washington High School and Averette University where she was a business major.

Ruby traveled the world and she even worked on a ship in Vancouver, Washington.  She was a vivaciously free spirit to know her was to love her, she lived her life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Evelyn Florance; a sister, Jacqueline Florance and a brother, Ronald Florance.

Ruby will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a sister, Terry Florance; a brother, Michael Merrick, Jr.; nieces, Catrina Wiggins, Laprinces Florance, Jorie Merrick and Michaella Merrick; nephews, Michael Merrrick III., Mecoes Florance Sr., Amealio Florance, Robert Wright Jr., Dominick Florance, Benjamin Florance and Robert Florance; great nieces, Meyonka Wiggins, LaNiya Younger, Robin Wright, Remy Florance and Taasheera Torain; great nephews, Mecoes Florance, Jr., Mecoes Wiggins and Mikyle Florance; a host of relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services for Ms. Ruby Florance will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 31, 2023 at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main St. Danville, Virginia 24541.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023  at 1:00 pm until the hour of service.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at her sister’s residence - Terry Florance, 820 Paxton Ave., Danville, Virginia.
