Ms. Vickie M. Sigmon

September 24, 2024

Victoria “Vickie” Marie Dabbs Sigmon entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Riverside Rehabilitation Center in Danville, Virginia.

“Vickie” was the daughter of the late Albert Dabbs and Edith Dabbs.  She was educated in the Pittsylvania County School System where she graduated from Tunstall High School.  She was the second-place winner of the Future Farmer Beauty Pageant.  Not only was she a beauty queen, but Vickie was also one of the first women in the state of Virginia to become a transportation accounting manager for Hemingway Freight Way trucking in Danville, Virginia.  After many years of working hard and raising her children, she retired.  To fill her time, she took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  And when she wasn’t doing that, she was watching Wheel of Fortune, doing her crossword puzzles, or sneaking lottery tickets.  Victoria Marie Dabbs Sigmon was the matriarch that held the family together as her legacy will continue to do as she looks upon us from above.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ronnie Bray, Donnie Bray, Angela Watts Snow and Tammy Watts Quesinberry; her grandchildren, Cheryl, Ashley, Clayton, Kimberly, Melinda, Curtis, Cheyenne, Kate, Lillie and Jack; her great grandchildren, Riley, Myia, Calvin and Aubrey; her brothers, James and Rodger Dabbs; a sister, Becky Gray; her life partner, Russell Daniel; a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life in her honor at a later date.

Professional funeral services have been entrusted to the staff of the J.L. Dodson and Son Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main St. Danville, Va., Bishop Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr.,

Funeral Director., (434)799-9262.
