Kirby L. Wilkins of 1148 Wilcox Street Petersburg, Va. passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.
Kirby was born on March 6, 1963, the eighth child born to Baby Ruth and the late Irving S. Wilkins.
Kirby was an animal lover. He truly loved people and enjoyed making others laugh. A true jokester and hustler, Kirby would do you a favor even if he had to turn around and get it back.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Forrest and Irvin Wilkins, Jr.
He is survived by his partner, Charlene Dunn, who was his A-1 from day one, through thick and thin, a true friend; his mother, Baby Ruth of Richmond, Va.; a son, Warren Parham, and a daughter, Charita Tucker; six brothers, Larry Wilkins (Roberta), Terry Wilkins (Mary), Donald Wilkins (Zelma), Robert Wilkins (Ethel), Timmy Wilkins ( Colleta) and Ronnie Wilkins; three sisters, Brenda Taylor (Ernest), Cherry Jones (John), and a devoted sister, Jacqueline Parham (Rodney); one uncle, Robert Talley (Jean); two aunts, Katherine Talley and Mable Talley; numerous nieces and nephews, two that she cherished, Jacqueline “bust your willie” Kersey, and Sharman Robinson; numerous friends, among them, Pedro Dunn, Terry Dunn, Ervin Walker, James and Ronnie Patterson, Mrs. Marie Hall, Ms. Gloria, Ms. Katherine, and a devoted cousin, Henrietta Young.
The family of Mr. Wilkins would like to extend a special thanks to Liberty Dialysis and the staff of Southside Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service for Mr. Kirby Wilkins will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013, 2:00pm at the Chapel of the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment with the Rev. Michelle Jones, Associate Minister, Metropolitan Baptist Church, Officiating.
