Mrs. Marie Brown McPherson, 71 of 22B Woodmere Dr. Petersburg Virginia entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her residence.
She was born August 14, 1943 in Petersburg, Va. to the late Robert A. Brown and Mrs. Nancy V. Banks Brown.
Marie Attended Peabody High School in Petersburg, Virginia. She was a loving, giving and caring mother, sister and friend.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, William V. McPherson; her son, Joel Mabry; and her brothers, Larry L. Brown and Virgil Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted mother, Mrs. Nancy V. Banks Brown of Petersburg, Va.; her beloved son, Randy Lee Brown, Sr. (girlfriend, Kelle Matula) of Hopewell, Va.; a brother, Jerry Alexander Brown of Petersburg, Va.; two sisters, Carolyn Brown Johnson (William A. Johnson) and Edith Brown all of New York.; two grandchildren, Randy Brown, Jr. and Tiana Best; two great grandchildren, Braden Lee Brown and Jaxson Cole Crim; and a host of devoted nieces , Audrey Prince, Sharon Moog, Angela Brown, Monique Bolton, Tasha Bland, Cherlle Brown; nephews, cousins, and friends, one devoted, Wanda Meyers Walton.
Services for Mrs. Marie B. McPherson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Chapel of J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment with Elder Ronald Lowery, Pastor of Refreshing Streams Ministry, Petersburg, Va., Officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery Petersburg, Va.
The family is asking relatives to assemble at 11:45 a.m. on the day of the service at the residence of Mrs. McPherson’s mother, Mrs. Nancy V. Brown, 214 South Sycamore St. Petersburg, Va. Friends, honorary and active Pallbearers will assemble 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
