MELVIN WAYNE HITE, SR.
Melvin Wayne Hite, Sr., 67, entered eternal peace on Monday, September 1, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born March 30, 1947 to the late Mr. Bernard Lee Hite, Sr. and Mrs. Fannie Jane Hite.
He accepted Christ at a early age, at Gillfield Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA. He graduated from Peabody High School in 1966. After graduating he joined the United States Air Force.
After fulfilling his military duties Melvin and his family settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked for the Nevada Test Site for many, many years. He loved cars, especially Volkswagen Beetles. He also raced them and kept them repaired. Later in his spare time he played guitar for a local band.
Melvin was a loving, giving and caring husband, father, brother and friend who loved life.
Mr. Hite was preceded in death by his father, Bernard L. Hite, Sr., his mother Fannie J. Hite, his brother Bernard L. Hite, Jr. and two sisters-in-law, Alice Hite and Violet Hite.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories his wife Nancy Boone Hite, three sons, Melvin Wayne Hite, Jr., Phillip Hite and Antonio Hite all of Las Vegas, Nevada, one sister, Jean Arlene Wilson (Willie) of Tennessee, two brothers, Clarence Hinton Hite of Dinwiddie, VA and Gerald Matthew Hite (Wanda) of Petersburg, VA., a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
