Mr. Willie N. Taylor, Sr. (Bob) of 1633 West Clara Drive, Petersburg, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
Willie was born on January 24, 1937 to the late Walter Taylor and Estelle Young Taylor.
Willie retired from the Newport News Shipyard after 37 years of dedicated service. He loved going to church and loved his church family. He was a faithful member of the Greater Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Yale, Virginia and attended until his health declined.
Willie was preceded in death by a son, Adolph Taylor; two brothers, Walter Taylor and Richard Jones; and one uncle, Lewis Young.
Willie is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Taylor and Melissa Blizzard; two sons, Willie N. Taylor, Jr. and Sherman King; eight grandchildren, Konique, Kaneisha, James, MyAngel, Jasmine, Sherman Jr., Jay and Gerrod; several great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law and caregiver, Linda Taylor; several uncles and aunts, Edward Young (Marcia), Nathaniel Young, James Young, Hester Hall (Reuben), and Eunice Young; brothers-in-law, Raleigh Parham (Faye), Felix Parham and Junior Parker; sisters-in-law, Shirley Taylor (Paul), Juanita Taylor and Louise Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and close cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rita Allen, Mildred Moore, Cynthia Rowe, Mr. Oden and mother, Ms. Estelle Taylor who helped care for their father.
Funeral services for Mr. Willie N. Taylor, Sr. will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the chapel of the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment with the Rev. Eddie Young, Eulogizing.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 28, 2014 from7p.m. to 8p.m. at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.
