Katherine Renee Barnes was born on March 15, 1978 in Milford, Delaware. Katherine attended Indian River High School and Del Tech Community College.
Katherine accepted Christ to be Lord and Savior at an early age. Katherine attended First Baptist Church in West Petersburg, where she was baptized and also became a dedicated member.
She was President of the usher board and a Sunday school teacher. She loved watching Family Guy.
Katherine was preceded in death by her mother, Kim M. Barnes, Grandmother, Evangelist Viola K. Barnes, Grandfather, Herbert L. Barnes, and two close friends, Sharon George and Sister Sandra Hunt.
She leaves to mourn her memories her children, Malik T. Barnes, Monique A. Snowden, and Mykayla M. Barnes, a long term friend and kids father, Stephen (Bay-Bay) Wiggins; Two brothers, Troy L. Barnes and Rashod T. Bryant; Aunt, Kia K. Horsey; cousins, Yasmine N. Barnes, Ricky L. Horsey, Jr. Yanique Z. Horsey and Rickia L. Horsey; nieces, Victoria Barnes, Isis Barnes and Daja Vinson; nephews, Nathan Barnes and Rashod Bryant, Jr. along with a host of cousins, family, and close friends to cherish her memories dearly.
Katherine loved loving others and sharing her warming smile. She was an avid Washington Redskins fan and spent her time as a dedicated member of First Baptist.
Celebration of life service for Ms. Katherine R. Barnes will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 26, 2016 at First Baptist Church 25720 Greensville Ave. West Petersburg, Virginia 23803. Rev. Dr. Peter R. Jeffery, Pastor , officiating. 25824 Greensville Ave. Petersburg, Va.
Public visitation and viewing will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 7pm to 8pm at the First Baptist Church West Petersburg, Va.
The family is asking that relatives, friends and Pallbearers assemble at the Church at 12:45 p.m.. on the day of the service.
